Who we are
Aggregation built around brokers
NBS Aggregation Group is the trading name of NBS Home Loans Pty Ltd, based in Seven Hills, NSW. We hold our own Australian Credit Licence (580020), are a member of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) and are a member of the Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA).
NBS was founded by Martin (Marty) Walmsley in 2017 as NBS Home Loans, an independent brokerage built on one simple idea: straightforward loans, with no BS. It has since grown into NBS Group, and NBS Aggregation Group is the next chapter – an aggregation home for brokers, built by a broker.
Our story
Why I built NBS Aggregation Group
In Marty’s words
I started in banking in 1998 and spent almost two decades with the major banks, in lending and leadership roles. In January 2017 my daughter was born, and a few weeks later I came home on a Sunday night and realised I hadn’t held her for almost a week. I loved my job, but that moment made the decision for me. Later that year I backed myself and started NBS Home Loans, so I could keep doing what I love – helping people into the right finance – on terms that worked for my family and my clients.
In 2024 I joined Hai Money, a new sub-aggregator operating under Finsure, as a broker and commercial mentor. I believed in the idea of a supportive, broker-focused network, and I enjoyed helping newer brokers find their feet.
Through 2025 and 2026, media outlets reported extensively on Strike Force Myddleton, a NSW Police Financial Crimes Squad investigation launched in January 2024. According to NSW Police, as reported by the ABC and others, it began as an inquiry into alleged fraud targeting car finance companies and expanded into alleged personal, business and home loan fraud against financial institutions. Media reports have referred to the alleged network as the “Penthouse Syndicate”. The investigation is ongoing and has made no findings, and charges laid in it are before the courts and have not been proven.
For people outside the industry, the link to Hai Money came in December 2025. NSW Police announced that Strike Force Myddleton detectives had arrested and charged a Sydney mortgage broker with 89 offences, including alleged fraud and directing the activities of a criminal group. The Sydney Morning Herald and Mortgage Professional Australia identified him as Andrew Hu, a former bank employee who had previously operated as a broker under Finsure’s and then Hai Money’s credit licences, according to ASIC records. The charges have not been proven in court and he is presumed innocent.
As reported by Mortgage Professional Australia and Australian Broker, it was amid the fraud allegations that followed his arrest that Finsure – the aggregator Hai Money operated under – ended its agreement with Hai Money in April 2026, and Hai Money ceased operating. Because our lender accreditations were held through that arrangement, they simply ceased when it ended. The two businesses later resolved their court proceedings and jointly confirmed that ending their agreement was not based on any assertion of wrongdoing by either party. Hai Money has not been found to have engaged in any wrongdoing.
I was one of the more than 200 brokers affected by Hai Money’s closure. Almost overnight, we lost access to the credit licence and lender panels we relied on, and clients with loans in progress were caught up too. Since then, former Hai Money brokers like me have not been able to be picked up as credit representatives, so we don’t know which lenders will or won’t accredit us – the only guidance we’ve had has come from aggregators, the MFAA and the FBAA. Two aggregators have told us in writing that they are not able to onboard former Hai Money brokers, as they understand the major banks aren’t currently willing to accredit us until Strike Force Myddleton’s investigation is complete, which may take some time. For many brokers, including me, that has meant being left with nowhere to go through no fault of our own.
That left me with a choice: wait, or build something different. NBS Home Loans Pty Ltd now holds its own Australian Credit Licence (ACL 580020), and NBS Aggregation Group exists to give brokers a stable, transparent home: a clear onboarding process and a licensee who knows first-hand what is at stake for brokers, their families and their clients.
